Mambrui Secondary School
The School opened its doors to students in the year 2004 providing formal Secondary education to the community and other residents within and outside Kilifi County. Mambrui secondary school is a project of Mambrui Secondary School Education Trust
It is located 14km North of Malindi town on a historical site popularly known as Mambrui, 200 meters from the beach, surrounded by sand dunes, lying on a quiet/seRené, scenic site which is conductive to learning; with a well fenced compound with a 24hr guard.

The land on which the school stands belongs to the educationally progressive Sheikh Salim Khalfan family. Permission to build the school on their land was generously sanctioned, on behalf of the family by Suleiman Muhammad Said and Mr. Khalid Muhammad Said. Next to the Secondary School stands Mambrui Primary School built in 1910 by Sir Ali Bin Salim Khalfan, son of Sheikh Salim Khalfan. The Board of Governors, almost all of them former pupils of Mambrui Primary School, acknowledge with gratitude and deep appreciation the continued generosity and interest of of Sheikh Salim Khalfan’s family in advancing education since 1910.
Everyday at Mambrui Secondary School is like a blessing with the active students and talented staff members around.
The Secondary School Project was initiated by some ex-pupils of Mambrui Primary School. Through Mr. Omar Abdallah Duhmy, himself an ex-pupil of Mambrui Primary School and former Headmaster of the School, the working committee managed to get donors who  built up the School to where it is.
All classrooms, toilets, a canteen, laboratories, dormitories, paths, fences and a water tower were built with money collected by the pupils of Reviuslyceum Wijk bij Duurstede. On this condition NCDO and the Wilde Ganzen foundation subsidized the construction of Mambrui Secondary School (MSS) with René Kooistra (Revius) as project leader and Günter and Margit Storck as the counterparts in Kenya who supervised the construction in Mambrui. Furniture, equipment, chemicals and computers were also provided. The laboratories were named after teacher Marcel Hamers (Revius) who died suddenly in 2004. Later that year a group of Revius pupils visited MSS, that opened earlier that year. This trip was sponsored by Travel XL Dorestad Wijk bij Duurstede.
The new administration Block has been built solely by the generosity of Bashamakh Family of Mombasa Maize Millers.
The old administration block was built by donation from many local well wishers whose names are acknowledged on the board at the School.
The school of excellence in academia and in moulding character and national values
To promote excellence in education at secondary school level and to prepare our students for post secondary education and skills in self promotion and in nation building.
We have a culture that is modern, relevant, and inspires students to have a brighter future. We are determined in our approach to learning, are creative in our thinking, and bold in our ambitions.
We, at Mambrui Secondary School , follow a child-centered educational approach. We make sure that it is based on scientific observations from birth to adulthood. We believe that a child is naturally curious and is capable of initiating learning in a supportive and thoughtfully prepared environment.Â
